Born From Fire

Most kids grow up craving sweets, but my obsession has always been fire and bold flavor. When I was just three years old, I practically lived in my parents' restaurants. While most adults were sweating over extra-spicy jerk chicken, I was happily devouring it. People thought it was crazy for a toddler to have that kind of heat tolerance, but to me, heat meant home.

By the time I was eight, my parents opened a Peri Peri chicken restaurant, and I fell in love with the complex, zesty heat of authentic Peri Peri. That kitchen became my playground. I was constantly dreaming up new flavor combinations, and my dad made it a tradition to whip up experimental batches and bring them home for his favorite — and toughest — food critic to test.

Then COVID-19 hit, and everything turned upside down. When life finally started finding its rhythm again, my parents pivoted into full-time catering. With the shift, the restaurant closed, and the Peri Peri sauce disappeared from our daily routine. Years passed, but I never stopped craving those vibrant flavors.

One afternoon, I couldn't hold back anymore. I begged my dad to grab the fresh chilies, Lemons, and spices, and recreate the recipe that shaped my childhood. We fired up the stove, blended the ingredients, and poured the first fresh spoonful. The moment that tangy, fiery rush hit my taste buds after nearly three years, only one word came out of my mouth: "WOW!"

That single word said everything. I immediately told my dad that we couldn't keep this in our home kitchen — we had to bottle this magic and share it with the world. Today, at 14, WOW! Peri Peri Sauce is my passion project brought to life. From our refreshing Lemon & Mint and tropical Mango to our everyday Mild and fiery Spicy, every bottle is crafted with the same bold adventurous spirit that started at the dinner table when I was just nine years old.
